CHRISTMAS CAROL

.............................................................
Red coat with white cuff and collar, a man with white beard...
Then black leather belt and bag. Saint Nicholas... Christmas Father... Dear PAPPA…
In his chariot with eight reindeers… reached in a chilled Christmas Eve. But by mistake, it was a slum at outskirt of city.
The kids of slum covered him with cheers… They dragged the entire gift packs from PAPPA. Someone guided the reindeers to slaughter house. A man with the smell of slum embraced PAPPA. . His beard gained the color of mud... Red silk dress became black.
Saint Nicholas smiled gently. He walked over the street. Then one colorful carol team of city crossed him. Nobody from that team identified PAPPA.

“Angles we have heard on high,
Singing sweetly through the night,
And mountains in reply
Echoing their brave delight…

With smile, he watched the carol team. They went away with cheers. Then he saw, a drunken old man singing a Christmas song from the street side. A poor cobbler! PAPPA sat in his side. Then he shrunk to himself there in the chill.
